This document provides the relevant information and the terms, conditions, rights and respective responsibilities under which Swiss Medica Clinic will process and store stem cells from patient’s adipose tissue.
This document regulates the additional services that Swiss Medica Clinic offers regarding the stem cell tissue sample. These services include managing the previously collected stem cell material from adipose tissue with the intent of making them readilly available for potential future use. The process itself involves several stages:
The purpose of this option is to make your stem cells from adipose tissue readilly available in case that stem cell therapy is advised in the future. The number of conditions proven to benefit from stem cell therapy is increasing every year.
Transplanting these cells must be done in a clinical setting, requiring the prescription of a licensed physician, and does not by itself guarantee a successful treatment.
In order for the patient to receive a therapeutic stem cell dose of cryopreserved stem cells, the patient is required to provide a written request to Swiss Medica clinic one month in advance. That period of time is necessary to prepare the therapeutic dose in time. The special process of preparation itself is time consuming and it involves:
After setting a specific date, the patient is required to come for treatment on that specified date without delay. If the appointment is missed by the patient or canceled too late, that could lead to loss of treatment dose and additional expenses involving the preparation of that treatment dose.
The patient is required to pay a fee of 1000 Eur for processing and storage of the stem cells. In the event that the patient fails to pay the 1000 Eur processing and storage fee within 3 days of receiving the fee invoice, Swiss Medica clinic will contact the patient by E-mail, notifying you of the non-payment. If payment is not received within 7 days of receiving the processing and storage fee invoice, this agreement will be terminated and the patient will lose any right, title and interest in the biomaterial, and Swiss Medica clinic may dispose of the biomaterial in any commercially reasonable manner consistent with applicable law. The fee of 1000 Eur is ONLY for processing and storage of the stem cells for potential future use. The processing fee is one time payment only. The storage fee covers the expenses of storing the stem cell material for the 1st year. If the patient requires that service, storage fees for future years are paid for additionally.
The patient may terminate this agreement at any time by providing Swiss Medica clinic with a written notice. If the patient chooses to terminate the agreement at any time prior to the processing of the stem cells the fee will not be charged. In the event of termination of this agreement after the processing of the stem cells, Swiss Medica will be entitled to keep the payment of 1000 Eur for the expenses of processing the cells.
The patient releases the Swiss Medica clinic, its affiliates, its shareholders, directors, officers, employees, insurers, professional advisors, service providers, successors, and assignees from any and all liability for any and all loss, harm, damage, or claim of any kind related to the collection, handling, processing, storage, and maintenance of the stem cells or otherwise in connection with the storage services, except for Swiss Medica clinic gross negligence or willful misconduct.
